Very powerful R&D developments are to be observed in Carinthia: expenditure for R&D rose from 0.42% in 1993 to 2.43% according to the latest figures.

A group of 280 Carinthian companies are currently classified as “having affinity with technology", and conduct R&D regularly. There are subsidies to be obtained from the EU, the Federal Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and also from the province (KWF).
