US Steel and the Slovak government have come to an agreement which allows the steel manufacturer to stay in Eastern Slovakia.

Because of the increasing cost burden, the production location Kosice, in Eastern Slovakia, has not seemed attractive to US Steel anmore. The planned selling of the steel manufacturing plant would have implicated the cutting of 7,000 jobs in an economically underdeveloped region.
