Slovak Deficit to Reach 2.9% of GDP in 2013

The Slovak government approved the 2013 state budget. The deficit will be reduced step by step in the next years.

In 2013, Slovakia´s budget deficit will come at 2.9% of GDP. This corresponds to € 3.06bn. Revenues should reach € 14.17bn, which is an increase by € 552m. The Slovak government has abolished the flat tax on income. The corporate income tax was lifted from 19% to 23%. Moreover, bank taxes were introduced.
