The Ukrainian affiliate of Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), Bank Aval, has become the object of desire for Russian billionaire Fridman and Ukrainian banker Lagun.

According to reports by Forbes Magazine, both Alfa Bank and Delta Bank are intested in taking over Bank Aval. Alfa Bank is held by around one third by Russian billionaire Michail Maratovitch Fridman, whose fortune is estimated at US-$ 16bn. In the first half year Alfa Bank, with a total of 22,730 employees, made profits in the amount of € 353m.
