Railway Cartel: € 8.5m Fine for voestalpine

The steel group participated in a railway cartel in Germany. The cartel proceedings are finished now.

Voestalpine only faces a minor fine. The Austrian steel company was alleged to have participated in price arrangements between 1998 and 2008. The prices were about 33% above the market prices. The buyers were German Railways and its competitors. voestalpine had to set aside reserves of € 205m.
