Poverty: 1.0 Million Austrians Endangered

In Austria, 12% of the population is endangered of poverty. About the half of this group is permanently poor.

According to Volkshilfe Austria, 993.000 people are at risk of being poor. This means that this group is not able to buy new clothes or pay adequate heating costs. In 2010, the share of concerned persons also amounted to 12%.
