The term "working poor" is an established fact in Austria. Full 6% of full-time employees are in poverty.

The whole social structure is undergoing significant changes. Poverty in Austria does not focus only on immigrants, single parents, unemployed or retired people any more. Women are often affected, as well as people employed in the service sector without higher qualifications.
A job does therefore not give protection from poverty any more; a full-time job represents no guarantee…
