Upper house approves law suspending fiscal restraints at 50 percent debt threshold

The Polish national assembly approved a bill suspending a series of automatic fiscal restraints at the 50 percent debt-to-GDP threshold, making it possible to push through amendments on the 2013 budget that will let the deficit rise by PLN 16bn.
The bill passed without amendments by a vote of 57 to 27 with 1 MP abstaining. The bill will be forwarded to the president for signing.…
