The Austrian energy group sees a 20 percent chance of success for production at the Lower Austrian gas field that was discovered last month.

OMV is planning to start two shale gas test drillings in Lower Austria in the next two years. The gas would be produced in an ecologically acceptable way: “We want to pursue clean shale gas in Austria”, CEO Gerhard Roiss announced on Friday. Necessary investments will amount to € 130m.
