This derives from the data on investment starts in the first quarter which reveal that growth in new investment exeeds the one in replacement investments. "Companies are increasing mainly the scale of projects tied to extending the property with new components (18.8 %)," the report reads. "Spending on modernization of the current property increased at a relatively slower pace," the report says further. "It indicates the possibility of improved investment demand in coming quarters," NBP said. In the first quarter, the estimated value of investments increased by 14.5 percent on a year-on-year comparison. Analysts of NBP estimate that in the second quarter already investments will see an upturn as some from the first quarter were delayed because of the long winter. Corporate investments declined by 1.4 percent on a year-on-year comparison.
