The situation of theAustrian labor market remains tensioned. At the end of May, 300,000 persons did not have a job.

Last month, 231,077 persons (+4.4%) were actively looking for a job. Together with training participants, 301,715 persons were unemployed. Against May 2011, the number of unemployed persons was up by 5.1%. The number of training participants rose by 7.4% to 70,638. The number of non-self employed persons rose by 55,000 to 3.37 million.
