Massive Increase in Household Energy Prices in May
Energy prices were up 9.7% year-on-year, while a slight decline was registered compared to the last month. Main drivers were fuel and gas.

In May 2011, Austrian households had to pay 9.7% more for energy than in May 2010. This is the result of the latest energy price index (EPI) calculated by the Austrian Energy Agency. Fuel and gas were identified as main price drivers. Compared to April 2011, prices of household energy fell by 0.6%.
