Today, a spokesperson of Metro announced that Benko has the best chances among the three potential buyers. Benko already declared that he will submit an offer before Christmas in order to secure the takeover. His rivals, the owner of Karstadt Nicolas Berggruen and the former CEO of KarstadtQuelle Wolfgang Urban, only showed their interest until now.
