Hungary´s National Bank MNB has called the IMF to close its representative office. Hungary wants to repay the loan facility provided by the IMF soon.

According to MNB´s governor György Matolcsy, IMF´s presence in Hungary is “inadequate”. As a result, it would be better that the International Monetary Fund closes its representation in Budapest, Matolcsy wrote in a letter to IMF´s director Christine Lagarde.
