This week, Hungary´s government has submitted the budget draft to the Hungarian Parliament. The basic assumptions are rather optimistic.

Hungary´s fiscal council warns that the budget draft contains “significant risks”. The uncertainties do not only concern public revenues, but also public expenses.
In general, the budget is rather tense and will only hold in case of favorable economic data. The expected budget deficit comes at 2.9% of GDP, which is only slightly below the allowed budget gap of 3.0%. This…
