Freight on Danube is Decreasing

Due to a lower water level, freight transport volume on the river Danube decreased by 10% in 2011.

A total of 9.9 million tonnes (t) of freight was transported on the Austrian section of the Danube in the survey year 2011. This means a decrease in freight transport by 1.1 million t (-10.0%) compared to 2010.
