In an interview with the Austrian newspaper „Presse“, Finance Minister Maria Fekter said to plan a tax reform. The entry tax rate should be lowered.

According to Fekter, there are substantial shortcomings in Austria´s tax system. More than the half of the working population does not pay taxes, Fekter explains. But then the tax rate goes up to 36%. Thus, the middle class has the biggest burden, Fekter argues. There is much to do in Austria´s tax system. For Fekter, a flat tax would not be sufficient.
