The budget deficit in the Czech Republic increased to CZK 47.7bn in October from CZK 38.2bn in September.

According to the Czech Finance Ministry, the results are still the best in five years and budget deficit could be lower than the approved CZK 100bn due to additional income from EU funds, as pointed out by Prime Minister Jiri Rusnok.
