A current paper published by the OECD shows that the European Union benefits from migration of Eastern European citizens as they compensate imbalances in the labor markets.

In the paper, economists prove that particularly migrants form Eastern Europe contribute to the European Union by compensating imbalances in the single currency union. In particular, they contribute by their mobility and therefore relieve the labor markets they leave behind by taking vacancies that are hard to fill in the target countries.
