Foreign banks reduce lending in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Hungary and Southeastern Europe are most affected.

The euro-crisis has arrived in the CESEE region. Due to the capital requirements, banks reduce their exposure in the CESEE region, where the banking market is highly dominated by foreign banks. As the situation in Southern Europe is still highly tensioned, many West European banks have a substantial size of risky assets in their books.
