Austrian Enbasys GmbH, a subsidiary of BDI-BioEnergy International AG, has won a contract worth over € 4.0m from one of the largest waste management companies in Europe. With the construction of a biogas plant for the recycling of industrial wastes for the German SARIA-Rethmann group, BDI and Enbasys continue with the successful development of future-oriented "water to energy" concepts for industrial users.

The biogas plant to be built for SARIA in Germany will go into service by the end of this year, and will produce a total of 6.3 m Nm ³ of biogas annually from around 87,000 tons of diverse sources of waste, from organic waste over sewage sludge to waste from fat separators, creating power for the supply of 6,000 households.

"This is an important, environmentally friendly and reasonable contribution to the production of renewable energy from locally available, biogenic raw materials, which are available around the clock independently from the seasons, thereby ensuring the security of the supply", said William Hammer, CEO of BDI-BioEnergy International AG.

BDI specializes since its founding in 1996 in the development of technologies for industrial upgrading of by-products and waste while providing optimum protection of resources and has one, owning an extensive patent portfolio from the results of its own research and development.
