Banner has recorded satisfying results in the business year 2010/11. Company sales went up by 10% and amount to € 225m. In the most important segment of the company, the starter battery division, more than four million batteries were sold for the first time in the company´s history. The growth rate of the starter battery division was 5% (200.000 batteries). Car manufacturers like BMW, VW and Volvo were served with AGM-batteries. In the drive battery segment, a growth rate of 30% has been observed. This was mainly due to the better economic environment and the investment course of the European manufacturing industry.

Banner intends to invest heavily in the headquarter location in Upper Austria near Linz. Andreas Bawart, CEO of Banner: "To avoid eventual delivery bottlenecks, we have to establish new production capacities." In the Upper-Austrian main factory, Banner already has reached its capacity limits. As a result, more than € 20m are planned to be invested for new production and storing facilities. Production of the AGM battery will be doubled by 2011.

Moreover, Banner intends to enter the Turkish market. First steps already have been taken. By the end of June 2011, the fifteenths sales office will be opened in Turkey. What is more, operations are planned to be expanded in North Africa and the Middle East Region. Banner employed about 740 collaborators in 2011 (+30 against 2010).
