Bonus payments of Austrian banks have recovered from the effects of the financial crisis. Rules for the payout have become stricter.

In 2010, Austrian and German banks were more generous with bonus payments to their employees than in 2009, the year of crisis. One out of two institutes raised their bonuses while only 16% reduced the volume of extra payments.
