According to the Ministry for the Environment, the area of domestic soybean planting and the harvest have increased by one third in 2010.

"The protein-rich and cholesterol-poor soy bean has experienced a real expansion boom in recent years in Austria Only in 2010, the cultivated area increased by 36% from 25,300 hectares to 34,400 hectares.
