Austria's Insurance Industry Is on the Rise

In spite of still felt repercussions of the economic crisis, the Austrian insurance industry shows positive results in all divisions.

Preliminary calculations show premium increases in all areas for 2010. Overall, the Austrian insurance industry recorded an increase in premium income of 2.0% to € 16,753bn. Total insurance payments amounted to € 11,980m last year, a decrease of 1.7% compared wit the previous year.

With an increase of 1.9%, the premium volume in life insurance grew to € 7,557 in 2010.…
