Austria's Budget Planning in Line with EU Rules

In its assessment of the budget planning of the euro states, the European Commission has established that Austria fulfils the requirements of the EU Stability and Growth Pact in its budget planning for 2020.

The Austrian authorities expect a budget surplus of 0.3% of GDP this year and a deficit of 0.1% in 2020.

They are therefore somewhat more pessimistic than the Commission in its autumn forecast: EU economists expect a budget surplus of 0.4% this year and 0.2% next year.
