The EU-wide bank stress tests planned for 2012 should turn out to be more rigorous, according to the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB).

The European Banking Authority conducts a EU-wide stress test in the first half of 2011 and cooperates closely with the European Council for Systemic Risks, the European Commission, the European Central Bank (ECB) and national supervisory authorities. By mid-June, the results of the stress tests on individual banks are expected to be published.
