The Financial Market Authority has given green light to Austrian insurance companies for handing out loans. Insurers hope for an improvement in investment income.

Insurance companies in Germany have been able to grant loans for a while. From 2014 on insurance companies in Austria are allowed to hand out loans as well as since it has been approved by the Financial Market Authority. With the respective enactment, the financial supervisors aim to facilitate clients’ assets of major corporations more profitably.
