Austrian Insolvencies Decreasing

In the first quarter of 2012, the number of Austrian insolvent enterprises is declining. Against the first quarter of 2011, the figure was down by 1.2%.

The Austrian economy faces a slight decline in business insolvencies. In the first three months of 2012, 1,597 companies became insolvent. Nevertheless, introduced insolvency proceedings were up by 11%. Dismissed insolvency applications decreased by 17%. The number of concerned workers remained stable (5,600). Debts owed by the insolvent enterprises were down by 20%.
