January to June 2011: Austrian imports rose by almost 19%, Austrian exports increased by more than 17%

According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria, total imports amounted to € 63.67bn and total exports amounted to € 60.51bn in the period January to June 2011. Austrian imports increased by 18.9% and Austrian exports rose by 17.2% compared to the same period in 2010. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of € 3.17bn.
