In spite of decreasing revenues and rising expenses, Austria´s Minister of Finance Maria Fekter expects to reach the budget target.

Today, Maria Fekter presented a report about the development of Austria´s public finance from January to April 2012. This year, the Austrian government plans to reach a 2.5% budget deficit. Together with provinces and municipalities, the overall budget deficit must not exceed the 3.0% threshold. However, the first four months of 2012 showed the this target is endangered.
