The governing parties call for changes in the bank tax which would increase the burden of some Austrian banks.

Only in October the heads of major Austrian banks ‑ Erste Group’s Andreas Treichl, Willibald Cernko of Bank Austria and Karl Sevelda of RBI (Raiffeisen Bank International) ‑ demanded the governing parties SPÖ (Social Democrats) and ÖVP (People’s Party) to reduce the bank tax which goes directly to the state budget.
