AUA to Implement Drastic Cost Cuts

Austrian Airlines, a subsidiary of German Lufthansa, is said to cut costs drastically. Old planes will not be replaced anymore.

The airline, which faces serious cost problems already for years, is said to take first steps in order to cut costs radically. The whole Boeing-737 fleet will not be replaced anymore. Besides that, three older Airbus A 321 will be phased out. All in all, 17 planes will be withdrawn. The most of the will not be replaced. Anyhow, up to eight used Airbus-planes could be bought.
