Takeover of OMV´s Petrol Stations: INA Faces Legal Restrictions

The Austrian OMV Group plans to withdraw from Croatia and Bosnia. The Croatian subsidiary of MOL is interest in OMV´s petrol stations, but may face legal restrictions from a competition law point of view.

The Austrian OMV Group plans to sell 91 petrol stations in Croatia and Bosnia. Already last year, OMV has announced its plan. 63 petrol stations are located in Croatia and 28 stations in Bosnia. For OMV, the petrol station networks in the two Western Balkan countries are not optimally linked to the supply chain. At the moment, OMV´s market share in Croatia reaches 13%. In Bosnia, the…
