Slight fall in inflation in May 2010 to 1.9%

According to calculations by Statistics Austria, the inflation rate for May 2010 was 1.9%, slightly lower than in previous months (both 2.0% in April and March).

It was influenced, through price increases in petroleum products (+21%). Without this price hike, the May inflation rate would be 1.0%.

The Consumer Price Index 2005 (base year 2005) for the month of May 2010 registered 109.7 point (base year 2005). Compared to the previous month (April 2010) the average price level rose by 0.1%.
