In the first six months of 2013, the inflation rate came at 3.5%. Compared to the reference period of 2012, the inflation rate was up by 0.4 percentage points.

Compared to the EU, Russia´s inflation rate is substantially higher. In the first six months of 2013, the average inflation in the EU was 0.7%. Like in the EU, the main driver of inflation were energy prices, food prices and rents.
