Romania: Economic Growth not Sustainable Yet

In the third quarter of 2013, Romania´s GDP growth amounted to 4.1%. Nevertheless, Romania is still far from a sustainable economic recovery.

In the third quarters, Romania´s quarterly GDP growth reached 1.6%. Year-on-year growth came at 4.1%.

Romania´s economic growth is mainly based on foreign demand and changes in harvest results. The annual export growth rate was 21.7%. Imports rose 8.0% year-on-year. The agricultural output was up by 24.6%, which is mainly due to the poor harvest in 2012.
