Oil Prices Rose Sharply in December

The Energy Price Index (EPI) calculated by the Austrian Energy Agency rose 2.3% in December 2010 compared with the previous month.

At the same time, it increased by 8.9% compared to the previous year's level.  By comparison, the CPI, which increased by 0.6% from the previous month's level, and by 2.3% compared with December 2009.

Compared with the previous month, regular and premium gasoline became more expensive by 3.6% and 3.8% respectively. Diesel was 4.2% more expensive in the monthly comparison. In the…
