Major Orders for Sandvik Austria

The Austrian subsidiary of the Swedish plant construction group achieved two major orders in Brazil and Laos.

In Brazil, Sandvik builds an exploitation system for iron ore for one of the world´s largest mining companies. The project in Laos comprises a conveyor system and a coal transition plant, which should enable Laos and Thailand to produce energy. Both plants will be built until 2015.

Sandvik Austria, which is based in the Styrian Leoben, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the globally acting Swedish Sandvik Group. In Leoben, Sandvik employs 120 workers. Sandvik has a second Austrian factory in Zeltweg, where 565 workers are employed. In order to realize the projects, Sandvik Austria is expected to hire new employees.

In Leoben, the company is specialized in the engineering of plant construction projects in the mining, energy, transport and metal industry.
