Due to the recession in the Eurozone, exports are shrinking. Next year, Macedonia will overcome the crisis, the local government says.

At the moment, Macedonia is in recession. In the first quarter of 2012, the Macedonian economy shrank by 1.4%. In the second quarter, GDP was down by 0.9%.
