Kapsch TrafficCom returns to profit zone

The listed “tolls specialist” has doubled its sales to almost €66.3m ($83.88) in the first quarter.

The listed toll specialist Kapsch TraffiCom has nearly doubled its sales to €66.3m ($83.88) (+92 percent):

EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) amounted to €7.4m ($9.4) (after €-3 ,7 ($-4.7)), operating profit (EBIT) remained at €4.8m (€-5.5m) and profit after tax at € 4.5m ($5.7) (€-1.5m ($1.9) ), as the company announced on Wednesday an ad hoc basis.

Earnings per share in the first Quarter was at €0.22 ($0.25) also significantly better than last year (€-0.18 ($-0.23)).

It has generated a free cash flow of € 3.2m ($4.05) (Q1 previous year: €20.8m ($26.3)).

The equity ratio increased at to 55.4 percent (43.2 percent as of June 30, 2009).

In view of the entire year 2010/11 the company anticipates positive business developments in the markets shared with long-term optimism.

In particular, the realization of the project in South Africa and participation in the expected tender and project awards in France, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia and Denmark will shape the year 2010/11.
