The Italian insurance group shows a small rise in premiums in spite of a difficult Austrian insurance market.

The premium income of the Austrian insurance industry decreased by 1.1% in the first six months of 2011. However, due to a strong growth in the life insurance segment, Generali group realized positive figures in that time.
