The Austrian succeeds Paolo Fiorentino who will remain on the board as deputy chairman.

At its meeting yesterday, the Supervisory Board of Bank Austria unanimously elected Erich Hampel, 60, as its new chairman. Following expiry of the two-year cooling-off period after his chairmanship as CEO of Bank Austria’s Management Board ended, Erich Hampel will succeed Paolo Fiorentino, 55, Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer of UniCredit, as planned.
