Business development of Austrian banks in the first half of 2011: Balance sheet total grows; volume of demand and fixed-term deposits increases.

The unconsolidated balance sheet total of the banks reporting to the Austrian National Bank (OeNB) stood at € 992.74bn at the end of June 2011. This corresponds to an increase of 1.4% compared to the end of the year 2010. The top ten banks in terms of balance sheet total reached a combined share of 50.6% at the end of June (+0.6 percentage points).
