CEZ, along with other foreign utilities in Bulgaria, does not regard itself being obliged to pay a certain amount to state-controlled utility NEK.

CEZ Bulgaria, a unit of Czech state-controlled utility CEZ, considers itself working in full compliance with the law and does not feel itself in danger of losing its power distribution license. "We comply with the law," CEO of CEZ Bulgaria Petr Dokladal told news agencies. "I have no concerns whatsoever. Those who comply with the law have nothing to fear."
