Austrian Members of the European Parliament welcomed the decisions taken by the euro summit. By contrast, the opposition party FPÖ criticizes the result as „final step towards a debt union“.

For the governing parties SPÖ and ÖVP as well as the „Green Party“, the results of the last EU Summit were „an important step“, but „not the final solution yet“. For the biggest opposition party FPÖ, this was the „final breakthrough towards the united indebtedness“.
