At the end of 2013, financial assets held by Austrian households totaled € 498bn, the Austrian National Bank (OeNB) stated in a press release today. Due to the low interest environment cash reserves grew by 3.2% to € 19.8bn. Residential properties and assets held in pension funds remained stable.
