The Commission of the European Union wishes Austria to give up its blockade against a reform of the direction on the taxation of interest income. Austria stands by its oppositional attitude.

Austria gave the European Union the brush off. Chancellor Werner Faymann explained that Finance Minister Maria Fekter already clarified Austria´s position recently and that nothing has changed so far.
