A Century in the Service of Music: Vienna Celebrates Theodor Kanitzer and the 42nd Chopin Festival
Some biographies reflect an entire century of European cultural history. That of Prof. Dr. Theodor Kanitzer is one such example. On Friday, June 19, 2026, an extraordinary ceremony will be held in the Grand Ballroom of Vienna City Hall. The occasion: the renowned cultural manager, lawyer, and bridge-builder is celebrating his 100th birthday. The anniversary also marks the festive kickoff of the upcoming 42nd Chopin Festival, which will take place in Lower Austria in August.

PaN President Hermann Mückler Awarded Golden Medal of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna
Prof. Dr. Hermann Mückler, President of the umbrella organization of all Austrian-foreign societies (Partner aller Nationen, PaN), was awarded the Golden Medal of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna. The festive ceremony took place in the magnificent Coat of Arms Hall of Vienna City Hall. The award was presented by Member of Parliament Dr. Ewa Samel on behalf of the Governor of Vienna, Dr. Michael Ludwig.
