EU Joins the Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships
The European Union has officially approved the United Nations Convention on the International Effects of the Judicial Sale of Ships, known as the “Beijing Convention on the Judicial Sale of Ships”. The convention, drafted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in Vienna, establishes uniform standards to ensure the global recognition of ships sold at judicial auction and to remove barriers to international maritime trade.
